Concrete Pad Foundations – Requiring minimal excavation, your RAPOD sits upon small supports lifting the structure off the ground creating the required ventilation gap beneath the building. These pads negate the use for unattractive, unsustainable concrete slabs and are a lot cleaner and more sustainable than conventional systems.

The frame of the building is constructed in KLC Timber, a modified variety of radiata pine with durability and stability properties such that the structural frame of your pod is guaranteed by RAPOD for 10 years and comes particularly protected from insect damage and fungal decay.

Our strong, robust fully insulated floor consists of 122mm deep tantalised timber joists and is finished with your choice from a selection of Engineered Wood Flooring and Laminate Flooring, providing high quality support and stability with an attractive finish suited to your tastes.

The fully insulated, internal walls can be pre-finished from a range of attractive options, or they can be left with a ‘Deco’ surface ready for the you to personalise – RAPOD recommend a colour from The Little Greene Paint Company. The external walls can be clad in Timber (Cedar, Oak, Sweet Chestnut, Painted Larch, Accoya), Slate Effect Cladding (in a range of colours), Zinc Panels (in a range of finishes) or choose our RAPOD *SIGNATURE* CLADDING combining Accoya Slatted Timber with Slate Effect!

RAPOD use underfloor heating film specifically designed for use under timber floors, utilising a simple to operate touchscreen digital thermostat to provide enough heat replacing the need for intrusive traditional convector radiators and heating systems. The even heat distribution allows your RAPOD to be comfortable 365 days of the year.

The RAPOD team will wire all electrics for the pod and connect it to the suitable power supply (RAPOD will provide the power requirements for the electric cable), that you will have had previously installed by your electrician.

The Basics
In most cases planning permission is not required for a RAPOD Garden Room. (Standard Height – No more than 2.5m)
In some cases it can depend on the land you are living on and its natural properties. We can aid you in applying for planning permission and identifying the building regulations.
